The Chest Prompt Support:
Trunk support can be achieved with the Rifton Pacer gait trainer by using the rotational chest prompt support. It is not just another walker. With trunk support the Pacer becomes a device that can assist even the most involved clients by securing their balance and placing them into a gently forward-leaning position that can encourage stepping. Basic use and adjustment of the chest prompt support is covered

The Adaptive Arm Prompts:
Adaptive arm prompts can be used with the Rifton Pacer gait trainer to assist weight-bearing, accommodate a user with upper extremity contractures, or encourage an appropriate posture for gait practice. This video segment demonstrates their basic adjustment and use. A transcript is provided below for viewers with hearing disabilities.

Positioning the Hips for Mobility:
The hip positioner—also known in the field as a 'saddle'—is a crucial component in partial weight bearing gait training, and an option most other pediatric or adult support walkers do not have. Supporting and positioning the pelvis either anteriorly or posteriorly can make a significant difference in a client's ambulatory gains. It is important to understand the hip positioner's correct use

The Thigh Prompt Aids:
Providing varying degrees of abduction, the thigh prompt aids swing freely with a client's stride. Because they help keep the lower extremities aligned, thigh prompt aids also encourage weight-bearing. Discover their basic adjustments and see them in use in this video. A transcript is provided below for viewers with hearing disabilities.

The Ankle Prompts:
Controlling a client's stride length and placement in the Rifton Pacer walker is easy with use of Rifton's ankle prompts. They can be used to prevent scissoring by placing a client's feet with enough separation to encourage independent stepping and mobility. This video covers inserting the ankle prompts into the Pacer walker frame and demonstrates basic adjustment and use.
