Description

The Kudu - a rigid frame, tilt-in-space, reclining pediatric wheelchair - has been designed to offer exceptional adjustability while addressing the clinical needs of the child and the ergonomic needs of caregivers.

Adjustable backrest height and seat depth ensures growth adaptability and back recline is adjustable without tools. Recline of -5° to 30° and seat tilt of -3° to 45° provides postural relief and comfort. The Kudu offers many options and accessories for positioning and convenience, and meets ISO standards for safe transportation.

The Kudu offers a breakout design that is fully child-oriented – as opposed to competitive products that are designed for adults and scaled down for the pediatric population. Rear wheels are positioned in an optimal location to enable self-propulsion, providing users with a degree of independence.

The Kudu has the ability to match any competing product for function, positioning, ease of use and visual appeal.

The Kudu is available in four sizes. Can be ordered with either one-piece angle adjustable push handle or two-piece height adjustable push handle.

Head supports
A wide selection of head supports provides a large number of opportunities for individual support. The head supports maintain proper head position and provide ­support in resting or active positions. The head supports are available in different shapes and features. The latest head support has an ergonomic shape and is equipped with a dynamic fitting which absorbs energy from extension. The head support is available with or without speakers. The cover is removable and washable at 104°F. The head supports are designed to fit any R82 product and can be used on other products as well.
Side supports
Providing optimum support for the upper body, the swing away side supports are very adjustable, and allow the child to be positioned correctly. The swing away side supports are designed to fit most R82 seating products and can be used on other products as well. R82 offers a wide range of variants in swing away side supports - all constructed with a fitting, a bar and a pad. The product at use will determine the choice of fittings. Likewise the bar and the pad are selected to compliment the size and need of the user. It is recommended to mount the side supports with snaplocks, which make it easy to adjust the height and width without any use of tools.
Vests and Belts
R82 has developed a broad line of vests and belts to compliment seating and positioning systems. They increase comfort, safety, and ensure a correct sitting position. These products take advantage of R82's years of manufacturing expertise and are designed with soft, yet strong materials. They are quick to remove or install and easy to adjust. A wide ­selection ensures correct support for all users. The vests and belts are designed to fit any R82 seating ­product and can also be used on other products as well. All the vests and upholstered belts are made of breathable fabrics, which make them comfortable to wear. They can be washed up to 104F . Mounting of the vest and belts can be done with the enclosed buckles or fastening to the outside of the chair. The vest and belts must be adjusted to fit the user, depending on how much clothing the user is wearing.
Trays
Different shapes, colors and materials make it possible to find exactly the right tray for the user. We offer a variety of tray top and mounting options. A tray with an edge holds a plate or toy, while one without allows freedom of movement. A transparent top or a solid surface are available depending upon a childs need. We offer either a single bar swing away mount that aids in transfer or a two bar mount. Some of the trays are made with one center bar mounted in the armrest, making it possible to swing-away the tray before placing the user in the chair. Other trays are mounted with twin bars into both armrests. Some users might benefit from using one of the transparent trays.
