Junior+ is the latest seating system from Jenx, building on the highly popular Junior system and offering increased comfort. The Junior+ offers highly flexible supportive seating for children from 18 months – 12 years.

Junior+ – Seating system

Created with significant input from parents, the Junior has been designed to incorporate the maximum in terms of functionality, flexibility and style. New options for wider back pads, a extension post and extra padded seating mean that it also grows with the child too. Combine this with the adjustable back angle, tilt-in-space, two piece back and lumbar support, innovative leg control options and a choice 5 different coloured covers and you have a seating system that not only meets all needs from mild to complex, but can be specifically tailored to an individual too.

Features:

Outstanding Pelvic Control System

Contoured seating with memory foam seat pad, independently adjustable lumbar/sacral support and a 4 point lapstrap provided as standard. Plus optional ischial bar to help prevent sacral slipping

Leg Control Pads

Unique leg control pads that enable the leg position to be controlled independently of the pelvic position, creating abduction, adduction or controlling windsweeping. Can be used individually, or as a 2 or even 4. As well as simple to adjust, they flip out of the way for smooth, safe and dignified transfers

PU Support Pads

Included as standard for hip support and available in a range of sizes with easy, flip away action for trunk and leg support. PU is fully flexible, easy to clean and impervious to fluids making them hygienic and robust

Adjustable Seat Depth

The seat depth can be adjusted easily and without tools on each of the three sizes of Junior+, ensuring the fit is exactly right for each child

Back Angle Adjustment

From 15 degrees recline through to 15 degrees prone, this feature can be used to create the required hip angle for the optimum seating position for each child

Two different Base Options

Both base options are height adjustable. Choose from the X-base or Y- base

Adjustable Back Height

From 310mm on the size 1 to 520mm on the size 3, plus an extra 75mm can be added with the 5-port back extension post, meaning the Junior+ can grow with the child

X- Base

Compact, robust and cost effective base with high-low and tilt-in-space functionality, plus lockable, swivel castors and a height range of 340mm-510mm (13.4"-19.7"). Tilt-in-space angle 30 degrees recline to 10 degrees prone.

Y-Base

A flexible base that provides a wide range of height adjustment from 305mm-760mm, (12"-29.9") alongside tilt-in-space functionality and lockable, swivel castors. Tilt-in-space angle 30 degrees recline to 10 degrees prone.

Full & Half Tray Padding

Extra cushioning for the tray top, attaches simply with Velcro. Covered in wipe-clean PU fabric (Image shows half tray padding)

Clear Tray Overlay

Ideal for use with communication aids, makaton symbols and other teaching or learning aids. Comes in 2 sizes.

Tray

A useful surface for work, feeding or play. Hygienic and easy to clean surface. Available in two sizes and requires armrests for use.

Reduced Cut-Out Tray Infill

Designed to work with the standard Junior trays by reducing the aperture for smaller children. The surface also allows the use of suction toys, anchors or grab bars.

Padding on Tray Edge

Extra cushioning for the tray opening. Attaches with Velcro and covered in wipe-clean PU fabric.

Adjustable Push Handle

Makes moving equipment safer and easier for carers, flips away in seconds when not in use, is height adjustable and has a padded foam handle.

Oval Headrest

Simple headrest for children who require minimal head support.

5-port Back Extension Post

Gives extra height to the Back Pad for those who require it.

Arm Rests

Provided as a pair, the armrests are independently adjustable for height and angle. Clear markings make it easy to set the armrests at the correct height. Padded armrest covers are also available.

Tray Elbow Blocks

Used to encourage arms into a midline position and/or to block excessive retraction.

Activity Frame

Great for encouraging head control and hand to eye co-ordination. Easy to attach and adjust and with two clips for attaching toys or other items.

Grab Bar

Used for children who need to fix one hand to increase functionality.

Slim Thoracic Support Pads

Available in a range of sizes. Made from flexible and hygienic PU with antimicrobial agents. Each size is available as a wrap around support with adjustable chest strap or shorter prompt support without strap. All Thoracic supports easily flip away and are independently adjustable for height and width. They can be offset to brace a scoliosis or accommodate other skeletal deformities.

Waistcoat Harness

Provides additional trunk support to children with low tone. Attach, detach and flip away in seconds with a single hand. Reverse zip for easier feeding for those children with feeding buttons.

4 Point Lap Strap

Comes as standard on the Junior Seat Unit, this is a 4 point strap to fasten over the pelvis, helping to keep it in a 45 degree angle, crucial for pelvic positioning.

Seat Extension

Provides extra length on one side of the seat for children with leg length discrepancy (NB: It cannot be used in conjunction with leg control pads)

Ischial Bar

Simple, yet highly effective positioning aid for children with a strong tendency to sacral sitting. Position beneath the memory foam pad in front of the ischial tuberosities, highly effective when used in conjunction with the 4-point lap strap.

Junior Abduction Blocks

Available in 3 sizes, providing different levels of abducted seating.

Leg Control Pads

Enable leg position to be controlled independently of pelvic position, creating abduction, adduction or controlling windsweeping. Flip completely out of the way to facilitate smooth, safe and easy transfers. Come in pairs.

Knee Block

Fully adjustable knee cups which can be used to control legs and create abduction, adduction or control windsweeping.

Footplate pad

Attaches to the footplate to provide a softer surface for those who can't tolerate more structured foot positioning.

Booties

Provide gentle and comfortable support for tiny feet. They are soft and extra padded with no fiddly straps, press studs or buckles.

Sandals

Available in different sizes for the Junior, Jenx Sandals are interchangeable across the whole range of of Jenx seating and standing products.

Sandal Raising Blocks

The raising block kits* give the sandals tbat extra bit of height where needed! Use 1 set to accommodate for leg length discrepancy or use 2 sets to raise the height of the footplate on any product to maximise the available growth. Sandal raising blocks come in sets of 4, each is 15mm (0.7") thick giving a maximum raise from one set of blocks to 60mm (2.7").

Box Style Footplates

Ideal for children whose condition means they cannot have their feet fixed. Provides a level of control whilst still allowing freedom of movement.

Removable, Washable Padded Covers

Matching covers are available for all PU hip, leg and trunk supports. Optional extra padded back covers now also available for increased comfort too. All covers are removable, and washed at 60 degrees. Available in Red, Blue, Pink, Lime Green or Neutral. Ask for product code information.

Multigrip™ Headrest

The original and innovative Jenx Multigrip headrest is available in 3 sizes for all Jenx seating systems. It has a choice of highly flexible fixing brackets, which give adjustment for height,depth and angle.

Shoulder Protractors

Used to encourage arms into midline and prevent excess retraction. Flip away when not required and are independently adjustable for height, width and angle.

Medium Back Pad

This is ideal for larger children who fit the length of a Junior chair, but need extra width for comfort and support.

High Rise Flexible Thoracic Support Pads

Available in a range of sizes, these high rise slimline and super flexible support pads (with straps) are designed to provide outstanding positioning with comfort in mind. All sizes feature single handed flip-away action and are independently adjustable for height and width to ensure maximum trunk control. High rise bracket provides a greater range of height adjustment.

Flexible Thoracic Support Pads

Made from flexible and hygienic PU these trunk support pads are easy to attach and adjust. Choose from a range of sizes Each size is available as a wrap around support with adjustable chest strap or shorter prompt support without strap. Single handed squeeze button flip away action on all supports Independently adjustable for height and width. Can be off set to brace a scoliosis or accommodate other skeletal deformities. Hip Width Reducing Pads

Designed to effortlessly slot in between the hip pad and cover, the infill reduces the hip width by 50mm, accommodating a narrower hip-width.

Ankle Snug

An optionla foot accessory option to the standard sandal. Ankle Snug offers a unique magnetic buckle fastening mechanism, which can be operated single handed.
